A question for the devs

Why did you shut down the free demo? Does this mean youll be going back to a token system? Subscription based gaming? Or are you going all out like Ubisoft where even if we, the players, buy the game, you can just shut it down leaving us with nothing. Also another question. Can i buy your game from somehere else? Somwhere where its on my pc and i dont need Steam to launch it. I saw it on Itch.io but i have to ask. Is that the same version as the Steam one? And if i buy it from Itch.io can i launch and play the game without Steam?
