best places to buy custom furniture in new york?

Just moved into a 1br rental in the FiDi. Completely new to NY. The space is good but empty and I gotta get some furniture to get rolling. 

Which brings me to my question. I need an actual couch, one that is quality and can last me a good while. And I’ll probably need it to be a custom size cus I’m fairly tall, and am not a fan of sitting straight up to accommodate my lower half. Should I get one from a store or order online? Ive seen a few ads from dreamsofa, lovesac and the like, but ive never had any from them and dont know how good they are

I just need it to be sized perfectly, last a long time, and preferably not cost me a fortune.

I strongly prefer if it has a local shop so I can actually feel the fabric and test out size, but totally open to online, too, so long as they have a decent refund or warranty temr.
