Is it always this hard to find a nanny here?

Wife and I have been searching, interviewing, and test running nannies for 2 months with no luck so far. We’ve offered roles to four different people and it seems like every time there’s a circumstance that comes up as a blocker.

Any advice? Have y’all had similar experiences?

This is our first kid so it’s all new. Thought giving ourselves 2mo of runway during parental leave would be enough but now both our respective leave periods are up, we’re back working full time, and we have no nanny lol.

EDIT: we’ve been offering $28/hr to 30/hr equivalent annual salary, with healthcare, PTO, and even including a nice sign on bonus. So.. yeah. Thank you to all the folks telling me to pay more but we’re definitely not lowballing Nannies out here. 🤷🏼‍♂️
