What body part causes you the most sensory distress?
For me it’s my nose.
I hate my stupid nose.
I have severe asthma and allergies (especially to compost mold) meaning fall and winter and early spring are hell.
I have a very deviated septum due to breaking it when I was super young, nobody noticed until I begged for an MRI when I was 25.
Every time I get a head cold or flu I get at least a mild sinus infection. I have to rinse my nose incessantly with salt water… which is gross and unpleasant.
I turn into a nasty mouth-breather for most of the year, I only really feel comfortable and myself in summer.
I wake up with my teeth and tongue dried out because I couldn’t breathe through my nose while I slept. It’s just disgusting.
My period is light and unobtrusive, I barely sweat, but omfg my nose is so so so so so gross and it’s always demanding my attention.
It sends me into asthma attacks more often than I would endure with a functional nose and the sleep issues it causes keep me depressed and suffering brain fog all winter. I sleep with a humidifier with tea tree oil and it sort of helps but it’s an effort not to abuse decongestant nasal spray.
Drs don’t really take it seriously. I was referred to a surgeon once but then I had to move, I’ve been begging for a new referral ever since. I have the MRI proving how messed up it is internally… but because it looks normal on the outside people just say “it can’t be that bad! It looks cute!”
I want to be active and alert and feel like myself from late September to May too!!! Not just in the summer!
