iCUE Megathread - Patch Notes for 5.22

Ahoy all! It's that time of month where we have a new iCUE update and so a new thread is made!

If you missed the first one, please feel free to pop over to it to catch up on why we have the iCUE Megathreads. Essentially, we want to hear from the community on their experiences with iCUE. My colleagues and I are checking this thread regularly to assist, see if we notice any patterns, and share feedback from here to our team.

We are continuing our subreddit rule where "all iCUE related questions and concerns are to be posted here" so that way we can get a better and quicker scope of the issues and raise concerns to the appropriate teams sooner than later while also being able to communicate directly with all of you.

Now onto the 5.22 patch notes - update should be live later today on our downloads page or in iCUE itself!

Known Issues

  • Due to backend updates of iCUE to Qt6, we will no longer be able to support updates to users on macOS 11 and older starting from iCUE v5.23. Affected users will be able to continue using iCUE v5.22 and older but will not be able to successfully update any further.
  • High CPU Usage - NVIDIA's latest drivers 566.14 have addressed and fixed this issue.

iCUE 5.22.86 Issues Resolved (December 16th)

  • 5.22.86 - Resolved an issue that caused the forward and back buttons on some mice to behave as a toggle instead of a single key press

Software Enhancements

  • Resolved an issue that prevented the installation of the NVIDIA Broadcast plugin
  • Resolved an issue with Launch Application that prevented proper scaling of the icons for the linked application
  • Resolved an issue with Murals that prevented the Reset Image button from applying as expected

HID Product Enhancements

  • Resolved an issue that crashes iCUE when changing the brightness with the K100 RGB Control Dial while simultaneously changing the polling rate
  • Resolved an issue that caused iCUE to crash when pairing KATAR PRO Wireless
  • Resolved an issue with Envision Wireless when Device Memory Mode is enabled
  • Resolved an issue with K70 RGB TKL brightness configuration in Game Mode
  • Resolved an issue with shortcuts not working properly while the device is in Device Memory Mode after saving a profile to the onboard storage
  • Resolved an issue that prevented the pairing process from completing successfully for K70 RGB TKL Wireless after a new profile is saved to the onboard storage
  • Resolved some text runoff issues with VIRTUOSO MAX
  • Resolved various issues when using iCUE Murals with VIRTUOSO MAX
  • Resolved an issue that improperly showed the Sidetone and Mic Volume at 100% volume after enabling Dolby Audio for certain headsets

DIY Product Enhancements

  • It is now possible to use two HydroX LCD Pumps together in iCUE with one iCUE LINK Hub
  • Resolved an issue that prevented configuration of an XD5 ELITE when used together with a XD5 ELITE LCD

The below issues are ONLY the major tier issues - there are a number of other minor fixes and tweaks as well (things like, say, a keyboard brightness setting reverting to default after waking from sleep on a specific motherboard series or something) - a small number of reports that are being fixed but really not classified as "major" issues due to the small number or relatively low impact.

JANUARY 2ND KNOWN ISSUES LIST

  • Mouse refresh rate drops when in iCUE window - this is not an iCUE issue, it's related to the NVIDIA Control Panel from internal testing. If you do not have the NVIDIA Control Panel and are experiencing this issue, please post below.

HIGH iCUE causing Game/Frame stutters TBD In testing, validations to define reproduceable environment for dev. ETA on fix incoming.
HIGH Nexus: Crashing iCUE TBD Work Around: Unplug Nexus, Open iCUE, Create new iCUE Profile, Plug Nexus back in. If issue persists after doing this, please post below.
HIGH Dashboard - panels/tiles rearrange themselves everytime they open the dashboard TBD In testing
Fix Coming Memory - Mixed Profile Message TBD This is not an error but just a rewording that needs to happen. ETA on which update will have that corrected TBD
