OG 5 Years FTP saying goodbye (no rant) (big yapp)
I think it’s finally time. Finally time to say goodbye to this game.
I’ve been playing this game for almost 5 years now. Started in early may in 2020 during lockdown. It was a sunny day but we were all stuck at home thinking how different life is at the moment than before the lockdown. I remember I thought let’s browse for games on the app store, maybe I’ll find something worthwhile. Downloaded couple games but they were all boring until I saw this very nice looking dragon ball game. Fight style dragon ball game with good animations on your phone? I loved it. I wanted to get better and started researching on how to improve, build teams etc. I found gamepress which was a good start, I was obsessed read characters kits and everything. Gamepress was not enough anymore so I joined this sub with mostly great content in it. Then started looking to improve gameplay through videos. Back then Bebop was the goat in this game (still think he was one of the best youtubers for this) he had bunch of great tutorials on how to do the different moves, this lead me to raiyuden where I started to enjoy his gameplay and eventually to goresh for his deeper analysis. It’s funny because sometimes I go back and look at ther gameplay then and realize how bad they used to be compared to now. All of them also got better through out the years.
From that day on I’ve played like 1800 days and only missed 4 dailies total. There has never been anything in my life where I was more constant than my dailies in this game. I’ve also never played a game this long before. It’s most likely also the game I’ve put in the most hours in my life.
Now, why not just play less? The thing is, since January I’ve not been grinding that much anymore, still doing dailies, but not looking to maximize resources anymore. If you want to compete in this game (top 1k) you either spend money or you grind everything possible to get as much resources as possible to be able to compete in PVP. I love PVP and I love competing there, I love those sweaty matches and trying to read your opponents actions. Obviously I’d have wanted if it wasn’t as RNG based as it is but it’s still really fun. Remember the first time hitting God Rank. that animation is crisp lol. The grinding takes a lot of time, even though you can do a lot of multitasking for most stuff, it still takes enormous time. To me it wouldn’t be fun if I would play it casually because if your team, equipment gets outdated, you cannot properly compete anymore. You’d be losing too many games undeserved.
Some stats I find interesting: - like 1800 days played - I’ve 599 Characters - The highest PVP score I’ve reached was almost 41 000 - I’ve around 27 000 wins - almost 6k GG (even though I almost never sent GG, my bad lol, but I never wanted to have a lot because I always thought the opponent will be better prepared if he sees you with a lot of GG, with all the GG I’ve now, it backfired though lol) - I’ve almost 550 equips and like a 1/3 is god rank status - always ftp
this probably my best post on this sub and I still think it applies and it’s funny lmao:https://www.reddit.com/r/DragonballLegends/comments/n9w9iv/ill_never_learn/
I’ll not be quitting today, I’m still enjoying playing with cell this season but will start to do less and less the coming days until there’s not point to log back in again. my account is fully stacked and feels weird to leave everything behind though
Honestly it was a wild ride with all the shit we had to endure from devs and all the different and crazy metas lmao ps.: full android team users were always the laggiest no matter the meta. fight me b
tldr; gg guys, it’s been fun
