“If you’re worried then you should have surgery”

Hi all,

Ive pretty much decided to have a myomectomy and am trying to find the doctor to do the surgery. I have two options right now and I’m honestly not 100% on either.

I just had the follow up for my MRI with one of the doctors and I mentioned one of my concerns is the possibility of them hitting the other organs, primarily my colon. It’s this irrational fear I have that I’m going to end up with colon issues and possibly needing a bag afterwards. I tend to over worry, but! Her response was “if you’re worried then you should not have surgery”

I understand this concept, and maybe it’s a valid statement. However, what are your thoughts on this? I’m pretty sure the vast majority of us have worries and fears but still go into surgery. I know I need surgery and am going to get it. I also know I do have worries. Especially because my fibroid is pressing up against my colon and sacrum.

Has anyone had anything like this happen? Or would you go with a surgeon that said that? Also, any issues with your organs getting hit or your colon having issues after🤷‍♀️

Appreciate all of you! Sorry we’re in this boat together❤️❤️
