US Specialty Contractor Working in Canada Work Visa Question
My company (American) was contracted by a Canadian company to do specialty work in Canada. I and our other employees are all American citizens. I have looked at the IRCC website and seem to be working myself in circles. I tried asking there and they directed me back to the website. I'm assuming the employees on this job will need work visas to work in Canada, but how would that work if they are employed and paid by the American company? I started to fill out the work visa application online, but I do not have a contract with the Canadian company, my employer does, and it told me I did not qualify for a visa. What do I need to do to make this work?
I'm also curious if there will be any tax implications as well with working in Canada while employed by an American company. This is our first time working in Canada and any direction would be greatly appreciated.
