Valgavoth on Enduring Curiosity

I had a Valgavoth on the field and used a Virtue of Persistence giving my opponents Enduring Curiosity -3/-3 and it came back onto the battlefield as an enchantment.

Im confused i thought Valgavoths effect would prevent this in a way like torch the tower or something. Can anyone explain whats different here?
