What’s the deal with Hulkling?

I’m not really understanding what makes people say he’s so good. He’s definitely a good defender in BGs but imo, the gap between him and Herc and CGR is crazy as attackers. The damage is above average but nothing I can’t get from Gamora of the same rank with much less hassle.
