What's an obscure fact about a popular band/musician that you know of?
John Marshall from Metal Church (who was guitar assistant at the time) was on the Metallica bus when Cliff died. There was also 3 other passengers (fellow guitar tech Aiden Mullen, drum tech Flemming Larsen, and road management Bobby Schneider) on-board.
In 1988, Metal Church and Sir-Mix-a-Lot (when he was first starting out) collaborated for one of the first rap/metal fusion songs that was a cover of Black Sabbath's Iron Man. It would end up on his first album Swass and become one of his first singles. There's several versions:

- Sir-Mix-a-Lot somehow also befriended the Seattle crossover band The Accüsed around this same exact time and would do a guest vocal spot on the song 'The Maddest Story Ever Told" off their album 'Martha Splatterhead's Maddest Stories Ever Told'

Around 1989/1990, The Accüsed would also be signed on Sir-Mix-a-Lot's record label 'Nastymix' and release albums and EPs such as 'Grinning Like an Undertaker', 'Straight Razor', and 'Splatter Rock'
Blood Feast's 'Chopping Block Blues' and Lenny Kravitz's debut album 'Let Love Rule' were being recording in the same studio at the same time. Once Blood Feast's session time was over, Kravitz would go in the room right after, meaning sometimes he'd come in early and hear some of stuff they were practicing. One time they were doing 'Black Diamond' by Kiss and they Blood Feast dudes asked if Lenny could do backing vocals on the song because they realized he had an amazing voice and also because Gary Markovitch had a hard time hitting some notes. So pretty much there's a recording of Lenny Kravitz on a thrash demo: https://youtu.be/zH7hWPFtbkU?si=za5hYPf5jKrlhwZb
Bill Paxton stagedived at a Body Count show in Santa Barbara, CA https://youtu.be/Yc9SaycO19s?si=2mB26NbJZiCmVAuL
Bonus: Debbie Gibson would do guest back up vocals on Circle Jerk's cover of the Soft Boy's 'I Wanna Destroy You' off their last album 'Anomalies, Abnormalities, and Curiosities'

Not metal but still hilarious.
