TikTok sound quality is horrible

All the videos I'm seeing on the app have a robotic/echo sound quality. I'll close the app out, reopen and it goes away for a few swipes but then comes back. Anyone else hearing this or is my phone speaker messed up? Sounds the same with multiple different headphone which is leading to believe it's a TikTok problem.
