Potential episode/just someone for you people to think about: Tom Clancy

Have you ever wondered why Americans love it when the "good guys" carry out acts of terrorism or torture, or why whatever is going on with the military now led by a Neo Nazi who wants to go on a crusade is going on? I'm convinced that the answer lies within the works of Tom Clancy. He is perhaps the most important cultural figure in making the CIA and military not just seem justified in violating human rights and priororitizing cruelty over actual results, but cool. He is one of the reasons why the gamer to fascist pipeline exists. There is plenty of indirect, systemic bastardry to connect him to; but also plenty of personal bastardry, especially with his post-9/11 racism.

He is a figure worth learning about for his role in turning American military worship into American fascism, either from a future lesson Robert gives or just on your own.
