It Gets Better
Getting diagnosed and going through the process of finding the right medication(s) is very difficult. My first few rounds of meds were rough, and I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life in a constant dull fog, struggling with the weight gain associated with bipolar meds, and feeling like life wasn’t worth the trouble. I wanted to provide some encouragement. It gets better. You will find the right psychiatrist, the right medication, the right dose, the right support team…it’s out there.
It took me about 2 years to find my glass slipper, but now I am thriving. I function like a (mostly) neurotypical person, I have a healthy marriage, a healthy body, and I truly enjoy my work. I’m not lucky…I just hung in there, gave it time, and listened to my healthcare team, and things have gotten progressively better.
Hang in there. Take your meds. Love and care for yourself. Better is just around the corner.
