Respect for Holminster Switch-- first time stories please!
Been playing through the main quest for several months and am just getting into Shadowbringers. Along the way I've leveled every job into the mid 70's and as a result every dungeon all the way until now was a snoozefest.
Just got to Holminster Switch. When I approach new dungeons I usually queue healer because I don't like tanking without knowing the layout and DPS queues take too long and hold up progression. So I went in as Sage.
What a revelation. I got my ass kicked. We wiped on the first trash pull because I was taking it at a pre-Shadowbringers pace. The tank slowed down a bit for me after that to let me adjust before picking the pace back up and I only let them die one other time but managed to salvage it. Then I let myself get killed in the final boss but luckily it was at about 25% and they were able to finish without me.
I haven't had real fun and challenge in a dungeon in months, especially because I've been grinding the same ones for leveling. This was a blast. I was using parts of my kit I only ever used just for kicks and still barely keeping up. Grateful my group didn't give me grief for my early foibles.
Anyway, just wanted to discuss this and hear about your first time.
