Is my boy is high on T.
We have been fighting an uphill battle with our 3 year old boy and his humping. We stop him as soon as he moves to a couch cushion or stuffed toy with that glint in his eye but he finds times when we aren't watching to get his groove on. He is well walked and exercised (4 x 30 minutes a day) and he has someone with him at home all the time. Believe me when I say he gets tons of love and attention as well as playtime.
We are about to have him neutered as our vet suspects he has a higher than normal degree of testosterone. Walks are fine until a dog is in heat in the neighbourhood and then he's a nightmare with his pulling and marking and then howling like a coyote in the yard. The one peace of behaviour though that perplexes me is his tendency to grab a toy and try and get as close to us a possible while we are watching TV before starting to hump it. I don't get it as he knows we're going to take it away from him but its like he wants an audience when he does it, what gives?? He is also a crazy cobber as in nibbling with his front teeth on us or soft toys. It seems to be his idea of foreplay so if he starts we know what's coming and ready ourselves to shut him down. Did anyone else have a highly hormonally charged boy and if so and you had him neutered, did you see a significant decrease in his humping?
