2023 Jetta sport questions

Hi all! I’ve had a 23 jetta sport for about 2 years now. The last service I had was the 40k service but I had a few questions regarding this.

  1. I was charged $1,200 for the service. This was at a dealership that I’ve never been to before, and was also the first paid service (had 3 free ones before at other dealerships). I was quite shocked but due to a long drive coming immediately after the service, I did not want to cross 40k miles before the service was done. After the service, I looked at other dealerships which quoted $400-$600 online. Was I scammed/was I forced to get stuff I didn’t need? Adding pics of the receipt for reference.

  2. After the service, remote start - which worked fine before - has stopped working. Regardless of whether I use the app or the key fob, there is an electric/clicking noise which usually is followed by the car starting, but it just clicks for a while and I get a notification that says “remote start failed, please contact dealership”. I live really far from that dealership (6 hours away) and the nearest one only has an appointment 2 months later. Could any of the services done affect remote start? I haven’t got it looked at yet, but if any of the services did affect the remote start, what can I get the dealership to cover (assuming it’s not under warranty - it is, but for assumption’s sake).

Thanks and apologies for the long post!
