Surgery with Dimitrios Giotikas Days 25-26
Giving a small update because I ran into an issue this weekend.
Yesterday during lengthening, I felt an intense sharp pain creep up in my right leg. It started around the 0.18 mm mark, and I ignored it until 0.21 mm. The pain reached an 8 out of 10, so I pulled the ERC machine off.
Today, I was lengthening and ran into the same issue on the same leg. I felt intense burning also around the 0.2 mm mark. I tried to ignore it, and gritted my teeth until I hit the full 0.25 mm. Afterwards, I felt a lingering burning sensation in one of my quadriceps muscles and a mild tingle in my right foot. The tingling in my foot went away after a bit and the burning sensation started to subside (I still feel it some, and it has been a little over an hour).
I did a bit of research on my symptoms. It is common to run into nerve pain around the 2-3 cm mark, which is where I am. I have no muscle weakness. All my symptoms are consistent with nerve irritation. The recommended course of action is to slow lengthening until the nerve pain subsides.
I am not overly concerned at this point, but am taking precautions. I decided it is best to hold off on lengthening until I hear from the medical team tomorrow.
Update: The burning and tingling both went away. It was definitely nerve irritation. I should have stopped when I felt uncomfortable.
