Things you wish you knew before moving to Redmond (or the vicinity)

Please share things you wish you knew before moving to Redmond (or the vicinity). We are a couple in late 20s and early 30, moving for work at MS. We lived in Baltimore suburb and Salt Lake City previously mostly, but also in Bay Area and Atlanta suburbs previously for few months each.

I have gathered these so far:

• Don't cheap out get proper rain gear.
• Be proactive about Seattle freeze and gloomy day. Adapt hobby, go outdoors.
• Traffic and drivers - This could be said for any city I guess.
• There are better and worse parts like any city, but even the bad part of Redmond area is pretty safe.

What else should we keep on mind?
