Uber pet drivers

I’m trying to understand how drivers for uber pet are constantly either rejecting me because I have a dog, acting extremely rude once they see my dog, and charging me cleaning fees when no messes have been made.

My dog is a service dog in training and, though I’ve been told that I could get a normal uber because of this, I choose to use uber pet so the driver is prepared to have dogs in their car.

I always place a towel on the seat so the dust from my dog’s paws do not get on the seat. I also put my dog in clothing to minimize any fur that’s shed. My dog is trained well to ride with me in ubers/taxis, and will always stay with his head on my lap to help calm me.

Despite all of this, I very frequently have drivers who clearly don’t like dogs and if they decide to let me in immediately jump to threatening to charge me a cleaning fee, calling my dog dirty etc. then charging a $50 fee even though nothing happened. This fee costs more than my ride and since I take uber at least twice a day it’s adding up to so much. My passenger rating has also dropped to 4.6 stars now.

I’m unable to drive myself and the bus system is not well established in my town. Taking Uber is my only form of transportation. It’s my only way to get to work or appointments. Ubers are always cancelling on me and sometimes it takes 30 minutes to even get an uber. I’m getting in trouble at work from being late. I’ve had to pay fees to doctor’s offices for missing appointments. Most of the time they tell me I have to cancel and if I say no because I’ll be charged a fee they wait in the area and continue to tell me I need to be the one to cancel.

This is becoming so stressful. I have no idea what to do. I feel like I’m losing my mind over this.
