Gaming Fatigue and how to combat it
I’ve made a lot of posts on various subreddits concerning my current gaming fatigue, but I want to further outline my exact situation and how others have handled this exact situation or something very similar to it. Before mid-2022, I had games I was excited for that I knew I would LOVE, like Metroid Dread, Elden Ring, Resident Evil: Village, and games from years prior as well. Around mid-2022, however, I started to play games and when I played them, it didn’t feel like true fun and true enjoyment. In a way, it felt like going through the motions. Ever since then, pretty much every game I’ve played has been the same story, with no true enjoyment and immersiveness, with the exception of one game: Astro Bot. However, that was an exception to the rule, not a change in mindset. So, what I’m looking to figure out is what exactly I’m experiencing when it comes to gaming and how to overcome it. I will note, I’m still excited about and love the hobby, I just have trouble actually enjoying the games itself. Thank you.
