How much the game lasts?

Soon I'll be 18 years old (less than a month), and I plan on getting this game because I love fishing games and finding interesting people to talk to, and I'm starting to wear down on difficult and challenging games that I just can't bring myself to enjoy.

My question is: do you recomend this game to me as a way to have fun for a prolongued amount of time?
